Το ιρανικό Ναυτικό θρήνησε τουλάχιστον 23 ναύτες ενώ υπάρχουν δεκάδες ακόμα αγνοούμενοι κατά την διάρκεια ναυτικής άσκησης.
Από την στιγμή που 40 ναύτες αγνοούνται ο αριθμός των νεκρών αναμένεται να αυξηθεί κι άλλο, ενώ οι τραυματίες είναι δεκάδες.
Όπως μεταδίδουν τα αραβικά Μέσα, το τραγικό ατύχημα προήλθε μετά από λάθος χειρισμό και εκτόξευση πυραύλου από την φρεγάτα κλάσης Moudge, «Jamaran» κατά της φρεγάτας “Konarak”, στη Θάλασσα του Ομάν.
